Vice President, Research and Technology
Objectives
Conduct necessary studies and make decisions on research activities; evaluate the University’s research activities; establish links with local and foreign universities on research fields; distribute and allocate incentives for researchers of the University; provide mechanized and digital information and documentation services to the faculty members; supervise the performances of the research centers and institutes of the University; conduct and support applied researches; support developing data network of the University; evaluate and utilize the results of research projects.
Organization
1. Office of Research Affairs, which conducts, supports, allocates and supervises the research projects in all disciplines from different faculties and centers.
2. Office of Applied Research Affairs which provides the links between the University and governmental industries and establishes scientific, technological co-operative committees between Government University Industry (GUI) in Agriculture; Environment and Natural Resources; Basic Sciences; Technical and Engineering; Literature and Arts; Economics and Management; Education and Social Sciences; Law and Islamic Science; Animal and Fisheries Sciences. Central Acquisitions is the office which supplies books, journals, articles (hard copies and digital) and equipment for the libraries and academic members for research activities. Other than the mentioned offices and the Central Library, the following councils assist the VP: Research Councils; Coordination Council of Libraries; the Council of Editors of the University Journals, Informatics Council.
