Vice-President,International
The Office of International Relations which began its activities in 1934 was advanced in 2009 to the level of Vice-President of the University with two offices of International Relations; and International Centers and Planning. The main objectives have been to broaden the scope of international programs with foreign universities and to achieve further internationalization of the University of Tehran.
This is done through joint agreements, joint programs and degrees, joint research projects, exchange of students and professors, with major foreign universities. Furthermore, establishing branches of the University in other countries, participation of faculty members and students in international conferences and in sabbatical leaves are other means in this regard.
The Office assists the Colleges, Faculties and research Centers with access to up-to-date international programs. The Office is further responsible for the international ranking of the University by known ranking institutes, such as Times Higher Education, QS and Shanghai.
International Advisors
Advisors to the Deans of Colleges and Faculties on International Relations serve as the helping arms of the Vice-President, assist with the promotion of international programs within their own institution and among the faculty members and graduate students.
International Coordinators
International Coordinators at the University are one of the most experienced and internationally well-known faculty members from different campuses who are assigned by the Vice-President to coordinate and supervise the signed agreements with foreign universities.
Council of International Relations The Council of International Relations of the University consists of the President, VP International, VP Academic and VP Research of the University. The Council is the decision-making body on major internationally oriented issues of the University.

Current Activities

1.Active presence of the University in international associations and scientific networks
2.Arrange official visits of foreign university dignitaries and mutual visits of academic, research and managerial delegations to expand the already-established ties
3.Increase the presence of foreign scholars and students at the University
4.Provide financial assistance to over 1000 faculty members and graduate students of the University to attend international conferences every year
5.Provide administrative assistance and financial support for the sabbatical leave of faculty members
6.Exchange ideas and experiences with foreign universities in promoting virtual programs, and production of knowledge at the global scene
7.Assist the University graduates to seek jobs in international markets
8.Promote creative teaching employing successful international programs.
9.Provide scholarship for foreign students and acquire scholarship for the students of the University
10.Coordinate the enhancement of the University ranking at the international level
Agreements

The University with the support of the Office of Vice-President, International has signed Academic and Research Agreements with more than 150 universities throughout the world including Azerbaijan, Argentina, Germany, USA, Austria, Uruguay, Spain, Australia, Armenia, Ukraine, UK, Indonesia, Italy, Algeria, Belarus, China, Russia, Senegal, Syria, Sweden, Switzerland, Chile, Japan, Iraq, Ghana, Philippines, France, Canada, Colombia, Georgia, Malaysia, Norway, Venezuela, Greece, Slovenia, Afghanistan, U.A.E., Bulgaria, Bosnia Herzegovina, Pakistan, Thailand, Tajikistan, Turkey, Tunisia, Palestine, Qatar, Korea, Cuba, Lebanon, New Zealand, Vietnam, India, Greece, Slovenia, Singapore, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan.
