Informatics Center
The University of Tehran’s Informatics Center (UTIC) was founded in 1966 as one of the first computer centers in Iran. At that time, the main responsibility of the Center was to provide computing services to the University mainframes.
Main Missions:
1. Providing a robust, reliable and secure information technology infrastructure for the University
2. Providing a variety of computing and networking services to the entire University, such as E-learning
3. Providing leadership in planning for the effective use of IT in the University The current plan of UTIC is to upgrade the Backbone connection, Internet connections, Dial-up connections and Server Hardware of the University. Furthermore, the Center plans to develop Link Rooms, implement Intelligent Networks and develop IPv6 in the networks of the University. The Center is also in the process of upgrading the current software and ID Management system of the University. The MIS system of the Center has focused on the development of Educational Management Systems; Library Catalogues; Electronic-Offices and the Faculty Member Databank of the University.
