History
As one of the six founding faculties of the University of Tehran, Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry and Natural Sciences have been taught since 1942. At present, as a College, it consists of five Schools of Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science; Physics; Chemistry; Biology; Geology; and the department of Biotechnology.
The College of science admits students to 16 Bachelor programs, 30 Master's programs and 20 Doctorate programs in different fields of basic sciences. In addition, since 1998 the joined PhD program in the field of Biotechnology has been established in cooperation with the departments of biology and chemistry.
